Zixi (Valerie)’s research examines how emerging labor market dynamics and institutional mechanisms structure and perpetuate social inequality. She is particularly interested in the intersections of work, gender, health, and life-course outcomes, with an emphasis on how shifting forms of precarity and control shape individuals’ opportunities and well-being. Methodologically, she employs computational and quantitative approaches. Zixi enjoys cooking, hiking, pickleball, and all kinds of travelling in her free time.
