Valerie’s research interests broadly encompass Labor Markets, Gender, Demography, Education, and Family. She currently focuses on examining gender discrimination in the workplace. She is also analyzing the proliferation of novel job titles within occupations and its implications for stratification analysis using computational methods. Before joining Brown, her research endeavors included shedding light on violence against women through the lens of domestic work-related migration and investigating gendered labor market outcomes. In her free time, Valerie likes to cook, travel, and read.
