Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantitative Data Analytics
The Center for Library Exploration and Research (CLEAR) and the Spatial Structures in the Social Sciences (S4) at Brown University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantitative Data Analytics. The initial appointment, beginning February 1, 2027, would be for a 2-year period, renewable with potential for longer-term appointments based on performance and need. This onsite position includes teaching in Brown’s in-person Master’s in Social Data Analytics (MSDA) program, and working in CLEAR Data Services geospatial data center to provide student and faculty data research consultations, and contribute to ongoing local and national data and Geospatial research projects.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be affiliated with CLEAR Data Services and S4 and will have access to considerable S4 research infrastructure. Candidates should have strong interdisciplinary and academic experience in quantitative data analysis. The incumbent will teach one MSDA course per year (flexible level and topic) and in the bi-annual GIS Institute administered by S4. The area of scholarship and substantive expertise is open, with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated knowledge of GIS and spatial analysis.
