Population Studies and Training Center

Training & Education

The PSTC is committed to providing resources and training to the next generation of population scientists.

Trainees in our affiliated programs of Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Public Health, and Sociology are enthusiastic about expanding traditional scholarly boundaries through their participation in coursework, faculty research, and the development of their own intellectual projects.

Our trainees conduct evidence-based research to understand and improve global equality, health, and welfare with disciplinary excellence and an interdisciplinary approach—making significant contributions to our global impact.

The PSTC fosters postdoctoral training in population studies with several postdoctoral research associate positions at the Center.

With approximately 60 predoctoral trainees, our training program offers graduate students personalized attention. The PSTC does not grant degrees, but rather provides students with mentoring from faculty, outstanding facilities, and financial support for research, fieldwork, and developmental activities.
