Research Interests
Issues related to climate risk pricing and ecosystem services pricing
Biography
Zhang’s current project attempts to study the climate risk perception of U.S. homeowners utilizing a detailed database of house transaction records acquired from Zillow. Preliminary findings show that transaction volume increased in the near-miss region after a hurricane. Jiayue explores if there is heterogeneity among local buyers and out-of-state buyers who may be unaware of the potential flood risk, with welfare and inequality implications. The work is in collaboration with PSTC trainee Bo-yeon Jang and supervised by Professor Andrew Foster and Professor David Weil.
