Biography
Jiayi’s primary research interest lies at the intersection of applied microeconomics and behavioral economics, with a focus on topics in health, violence, inequality, and media. Before joining Brown, she aided in projects on Medicare Advantage provider network at Johns Hopkins. She also investigated violence against doctors in China, employing both theoretical and quasi-experimental methods. She mainly uses Python, R, and Stata to web-scrape data and conduct analysis in her research. She is now interested in exploring social media interactions through the lenses of network theory and political economy. In her leisure time, she enjoys playing badminton, tennis, taekwondo, and engaging in crafting activities.
