Wei is a Senior Research Scientist specializing in applying GIS techniques in understanding public health, sociology, and environmental phenomena. He holds a Ph.D. degree in GIS from Texas State University. He has been working on GIS for more than ten years, and his expertise includes spatial analysis, data mining, GIS programming, spatial databases, geo-computation and web mapping. Wei's current research focuses on personal exposure assessment, data mining of social media data, human mobility and travel behavior modeling and geovisual analytics.
