Foster receives mentoring award

PSTC Faculty Associate Andrew Foster was awarded the 2018-19 Graduate School Faculty Award for Advising and Mentoring.

Andrew Foster, PSTC faculty associate and professor of Economics, was awarded the 2018-19 Graduate School Faculty Award for Advising and Mentoring at the University Faculty Award Ceremony late last month.

“Foster has been an anchor in the PSTC interdisciplinary training program in demography for 22 years," said PSTC Director Susan Short. "Foster has served as a primary advisor to more than 30 PSTC trainees during this time, and has been a generous and supportive mentor to many more. We are delighted that Andrew was chosen for this award," Short added.

The Graduate School Faculty Award for Advising and Mentoring was created by the Graduate Council in 2010 to recognize faculty who have made outstanding contributions to the support and development of graduate students at Brown.
