
Rhiannon Miller
Biography
Rhiannon Miller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Providence College. She is a demographer who uses quantitative methods to understand how increases in women's educational attainment are connected to changing patterns in assortative mating, family structures, and gender roles. Prior to returning to academia, she managed the processing and analysis of data used in large-scale social policy demonstrations and randomized-control trials at MDRC. These projects were designed to improve the economic and educational opportunities of low-income populations in the United States. She began her career working in direct social services and managed programming in a supportive housing community with Common Ground Community in New York City. In West Africa, she worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo and Chad.
