Biography

Gracie Venechuk completed her PhD in Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2024 with a minor in Population Health Studies and a concentration in demography. Dr. Venechuk’s work explores the social determinants of health throughout adulthood into old age, particularly the relationship between employment and health at the intersection of race-and-gender. Her prior appointment was with as a postdoctoral fellow in the Demography of Economics of Aging with CHeSS and the Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago; she recently joined the Population Studies and Training Center as a Postdoctoral Research Associate working with Drs. Susan Short and Meghan Zacher.
