Biography
Sagen is interested in the ways Black youth attribute meaning to race, class, and opportunity across educational contexts. She examines how these meanings are (re)shaped from early childhood to college and its implications for students' educational and occupational aspirations. Her research also aims to identify resources, programs, and policies that enhance Black educational experiences.
