PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – Assistant Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs Jayanti Owens has been named a 2017 Spencer postdoctoral fellow by the National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. She will spend her fellowship year working on her project, "Exclusionary Discipline: Racial Disparities in How Educators Evaluate and Sanction Misbehavior."
