PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – Frances Goldscheider, a former PSTC director, received the Harriet B. Presser Award at the 2017 Population Association of America's annual meeting in Chicago. The award is given in recognition of "a record of sustained research contributions to the study of gender and demography." 

Goldscheider, a University Professor Emerita and Professor Emerita of Sociology, is the fifth scholar to receive the award. She directed the PSTC in 1989-1992 and 1994-1995.
