PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – Race and Ethnicity in America, a new book published by PSTC Alumnus John Iceland (Sociology, '97), examines "patterns and trends in racial and ethnic inequality over recent decades." Iceland, now a professor of Sociology and Demography and the head of the Department of Sociology at Penn State University, explores the underlying "causes of inequality, multiracial populations, patterns of socioeconomic well-being among specific ethnic groups, and international comparisons and policy debates."
