PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – A special Race and Inequality seminar series being hosted by the PSTC aims to tackle questions of racial inequalities related to class, skin color, and other factors in the arenas of health care, the criminal justice system, and the labor market. 

The series begins at noon on Wednesday, February 8, with a talk by Abigail A. Sewell of Emory University. Ellis Monk from Princeton will speak on March 22, and David Pedulla of Stanford will present his research on April 12. 

Postdoctoral Research Associate Maria Abascal has organized the events. She says, "The scholars in this series are all doing exciting, cutting-edge research on this topic, research that draws on new data sources and innovative methods. Their findings bring attention to how racial inequalities intersect with inequalities from other sources, like class, physical appearance, and employment backgrounds." 

The series will be held at the PSTC and is cosponsored by the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America and the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion. Click here for additional information.
