PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – Sidney Goldstein, founder of the PSTC and director for 24 years, has been named an honored member of the Population Association of America (PAA). Goldstein, a professor of Sociology emeritus, retired from Brown in 1993. He is "internationally recognized for his long-standing and fundamental contributions to the study of urbanization and population mobility. He contributed significantly to the field with the development of the concept of repeat migration."
Goldstein is the second PSTC director to receive this honor. Frances Goldscheider, professor of Sociology emerita, was previously recognized as a honored member of PAA.
