PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – During the annual meeting of the Corporation of Brown University, one PSTC faculty associate was appointed to a named chair and six were approved for promotions. Assistant Professor of Sociology Jayanti Owens was appointed the Mary Tefft and John Hazen White, Sr. Assistant Professor of International and Public Affairs and Sociology. 

Anna Aizer, Justine Hastings, and Emily Oster are each being promoted to Professor of Economics, and Stelios Michalopoulos to Associate Professor of Economics. Margot Jackson is being promoted to Associate Professor of Sociology, and Leah VanWey to Professor of Sociology, all effective July 1.
