PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – PSTC Trainee Benjamin Bellman has been awarded the S4 Graduate Student Paper Prize for his paper on residential segregation. Bellman, a PhD candidate in Sociology, presented his paper, "Slicing the Pie: Occupational and Residential Stratification in Nineteenth Century Philadelphia," during the fourth annual S4 Graduate Student Lecture and Reception held at the PSTC on May 13.

Second place was awarded to PSTC Trainee Heitor Pellegrina (Economics) for his paper, "Agricultural Productivity and the Spatial Economy: Theory and Evidence from Brazil."

The annual award is given for a graduate student paper, in any discipline, that employs spatial analysis/thinking or GIS. The 2015 winner was PSTC Trainee Michelle Marcus (Economics) for her paper, "Gasoline Content Regulations and Child Health."
