PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] – PSTC Trainee Marcia Pescador Jimenez (Public Health) is one of two students selected as delegates by the Brown School of Public health to attend the Millennial Health Leaders' Summit, which is being held by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta at the end of the month. Those selected are "students who have a strong interest in addressing health disparities and who will benefit from interacting with others who share a passion for achieving health equity," according to the CDC's website. "The Millennial Health Leaders Summit brings together a cadre of medical, public health, and public policy graduate students, nominated by their universities for their outstanding achievements and promise as future leaders in addressing health disparities across the nation."

The Summit will involve interactive workshops and case study discussions presented by researchers and policymakers from within the CDC, providing critical opportunities "to consider issues and effective models for addressing health disparities in diverse populations." The delegates are viewed as the next generation of those who will work to eliminate health disparities in the U.S. in the 21st century.
